My sincere condolences to the family, the friends and all Egypt loving humans for the departure of Dr Helmy Guirguis.

Despite that I regret not having the opportunity to communicate with him, I feel close to his just struggle in defending the natural rights of the Copts to live in peace, dignity and equality with all Egyptians in their homeland.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of Dr. Helmy Guirguis, a giant among the Copts. He and I are of the same age. Our paths crossed when I was working in England. Helmy was a fine gentleman. I regret that he suffered in his last days but I am certain one day we shall meet him with our Lord.

I have known him only through emails and may be once once over the phone, but I certainly feel the loss inflicted on his whole entourage.

While the UK Copts Association has lost his efforts and extremely good work, we believe, that now in Heavens, he will continue to serve all the good causes he has been devoting his life for while on Earth.

May our Lord Jesus Christ rest his soul in peace and grant consolation to his family, friends and colleagues.

God bless you All,

George H. Labib

I have just received the sad news concerning the passing away of Dr Helmy Guirguis in the UK and can strongly appreciate your loss and your sorrow both on a personal and professional level.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences which I also address to all Coptic Solidarity board members, particularly the key founders and active pioneers who accompanied you all on this challenging journey from the very start.

Although I have spent little time with Dr Helmy in Washington, I shall always remember his great modesty, his friendly smile and his generous efforts to make the annual congress in Washington a great success.

May God rest Dr Helmy's soul in Peace. He will be greatly missed.

It is with shock that I received the sad news of the passing of Helmy. I am very saddened by his death, especially that I got to know him well over the years and that he was one of the kindest men I have ever met.

Please forward my most sincere condolences to his family and if there is a phone number I can reach someone from his family let me know.

I would want to see a recognition of his work and in his memory at the first international opportunity.

May his soul rest in Peace and may his hard work work for the noble Coptic cause be remembered
